What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy simply means "treatment using scents".  The scents used are known as essential oils.  It was used by many of the great ancient civilizations and is reputed to be at least 6,000 years old.

How does aromatherapy work?

The essential oils work directly on the chemistry of the body, via the skin and bloodstream.  Essential oils are added to carrier oils and massaged into the body, added to a bath, inhaled directly or defuse to scent an entire environment.
